About Us
Our journey began in 1995 with the formation of the Airdrie Bantam Storm, our first community football team. For several years, this was the only community tackle football team in Airdrie. However, in 2002, we reached a major milestone by expanding the program to include Atom and Peewee Storm Tackle teams, offering even more young athletes the opportunity to play. In 2007, Airdrie Football grew once again with the addition of the Airdrie Northern Raiders Spring League team, designed for local Grade 9-11 players who aspired to continue playing football beyond high school.
2012, we rebranded our Bantam and Spring League teams, renaming them the Raiders. Our commitment to growth continued in 2016 with the launch of the Airdrie Football Society Flag Football League, reflecting the rising interest in football and the demand for more inclusive opportunities.
Just when we thought our expansion had slowed, we introduced two more programs. 2018, we launched Xtreme Flag Football, aimed at building confidence and preparing young players for potential transition into tackle football. 2021, we made history by joining Alberta's first-ever Female under 19 Tackle Football League, adding one more team to our Spring League programming.
Throughout our journey, Airdrie Football has remained dedicated to providing opportunities for athletes at all levels and ages to experience the game.

With all these new programs we decided it was time to create the Airdrie Football Group. Since being founded in 2018 the Airdrie Football Group has remained dedicated to fostering a love for football while instilling important values such as sportsmanship, discipline, and community in our athletes. Over the past 30 years, we have proudly introduced countless individuals to the sport, helping them grow not just as athletes, but as responsible citizens and committed students.

Our organization has always been about more than just football. We aim to build a foundation for life by teaching lessons that extend beyond the field. With an emphasis on teamwork, respect, and leadership, Airdrie Football Group has played a key role in shaping the character and futures of the young people we serve.
As of August 23, 2023, Airdrie Football Group officially became incorporated, marking a major milestone in our history. December 2024 the Airdrie Football Society fully dissolved and passed on the task of running the NFL Flag League to the Airdrie Football Group. This development strengthens our commitment to excellence and ensures that we will continue providing top-quality football programs for years to come.
We are deeply grateful to the athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families who have been part of our journey. Together, we have built a vibrant, supportive community, and we look forward to many more years of growing the game and inspiring the next generation of leaders, both on and off the field.
We want to give a special shout out to a few of our volunteers who have volunteered 15 or more years to our program:
